Build and play chord progressions
Chord presets
Turn chord presets on from the instrument controls. Numbered chord slots show your progression. Tap a slot to select its fingering; NEXT advances through the choices while you pick. Selecting a chord prepares the notes for playing. After finishing progression editing, playback preparation starts at the first chord.
Add and edit
Edit notes opens the chord-preset workspace. Add Chord opens the pitch/voicing chooser. Add Chord Progression opens the progression builder, guided by the session key. Select a chord to edit, reorder, or delete it. Clear all removes the list, and Undo restores an available change. Done or Back returns to playing.
Fretboard editing
A chord can be edited on the fretboard: choose string frets or mute strings to shape its voicing. Changing individual notes can detach a chord from the builder's original fingering. Use the displayed name and notes to check the result before applying it.
Progression versus recording
Chord presets are a performance aid. Adding a progression does not itself record a timed performance. Pick or strum it while recording to create the part, or use sequence tools for a prepared phrase.
Build a progression
In the progression builder, Source chooses generated chords or a preset. Chords appear automatically when the builder opens. Changing Source, Mood, Chords (2, 4, 8, or 16), preset, Prefer shape, or More adventurous refreshes the draft immediately while keeping locked chords. Choose Random, above the options, offers another starting point. Prefer shape chooses Open, Barre, Power, or Compact fingerings; power chords can use two or three notes. Hear progression auditions the draft; Stop ends it.
Refine the progression
Tap a chord to change Root and Voicing, hear it, move it Earlier/Later, or Remove it. Lock chord when regenerating preserves that slot and fingering. More options reveals bass note, shape, neck area, and a per-chord neck override. Smooth loop considers the return to the first chord. Preview chooses Arpeggio or Strum; More adventurous allows borrowed chords. Use nearby shape offers an alternative when the requested range has no playable fingering. Save as reusable preset keeps the progression for later.
Apply the draft
Add Progression fills an empty list. Add to End appends to an existing one. Where offered, Replace All Slots replaces it, and Insert After Slot inserts at the current position. Set chord applies a single-chord choice. The applied progression is one undoable change. Close/Back leaves an unapplied draft; finishing chord-preset editing selects the first chord for playing.
