Solve common problems

No sound

1. Check device media volume and the connected output. 2. If audio is paused, choose Resume audio. 3. Confirm the instrument switch is on and the part contains notes when using playback. 4. Check channel level, Master, mute, and solo in Mix. 5. Check string mutes, keys Hold/Stop, and instrument output level. 6. Try a simple factory sound and play a live note. If that works, inspect the original rig and its bypass/level settings.

Delayed response or crackles

Use wired/USB headphones. Start with Automatic buffer and caching enabled in Advanced Audio. Close competing heavy apps and retry the same phrase. If a complex rig still crackles, try fewer costly effects or a simpler preset and copy diagnostics after the issue. A small buffer is not always the best choice for a busy arrangement.

Recording did not capture what I expected

Wait for count-in. Confirm you are playing the intended instrument and part. Finish take before leaving the recording workflow. Overdub layers a take; it does not replace every earlier note. Inspect recording passes and Undo last take. RiffJam records its own touch instruments, not a microphone.

Cannot change a control

Finish recording first. Some actions wait while sounds load, previews restore, backups run, or backing audio is prepared. Premium-only features require access. In Tab, select a slot or note before using its controls, and check that the requested length fits the part and the next note on its string.

Cannot find saved work

Check My Vault and Recovery drafts. Continue Session opens the current draft, which may differ from a named saved session. Inspect imported copies for duplicate names. Restore an external backup if local work was removed. Do not reset or uninstall as a first troubleshooting step.

Purchase or import failed

For purchases, use Restore purchases with the correct store account and connectivity. For import, choose the native file or backup and read its validation message; a newer unsupported format may require an app update. A cancelled system file picker does not complete an export. Verify the destination file exists.
