Balance the session mixer
Open and adjust
Choose Mix on Session Home or Session Mix in an instrument's sound workspace. Each instrument has its own level, pan, mute, and solo. Master controls the overall output. Use small changes and compare at a comfortable listening level.
Mute and solo
Mute silences a channel. Solo auditions selected channels; more than one solo can be active. Mute wins when a channel is both muted and soloed. If a part seems silent, inspect both its instrument enable switch and these mixer controls.
Level and pan
Track levels can go above unity, but boosting several channels can overload the balance. Pan moves the channel left or right. Sound-module Level changes that sound and may drive later effects; the session fader changes its place in the final mix. Reset levels returns musical faders to their defaults while retaining intentional mute, solo, and sound settings.
Preset drums too loud
Reduce the drum channel first instead of raising every other track. New preset sessions already soften the drums by about 3 dB, but dense patterns, headphones, and different kits may need further adjustment. Save the session once the balance suits you.
