Noise Gate
Sound and starting point
A noise gate reduces low-level sound between notes. Set the threshold just high enough to suppress unwanted tails without cutting off quiet playing.
Threshold
Sets the level at which dynamics processing reacts. Check the module’s purpose below: a gate suppresses low-level sound, while a compressor reduces peaks above its threshold.
Release
Sets how slowly the gate closes after the signal falls below threshold, from 25 to 425 ms. Longer release helps sustained notes fade naturally.
Depth
Sets how far the gate attenuates quiet sound. High depth gives a firmer silence; lower depth lets more of the tail remain.
Use in the rig
Add this module from the effect catalogue and select its position before amp, after amp, or after cabinet. Use the module enable switch to compare bypassed sound. Hold and drag its chain card to reorder; Duplicate makes another instance and Remove deletes it. In a session, automation can change its controls over the loop. Save sound preset stores the rig for reuse.
