Tempo, meter, key, and loop length
Tempo and time signature
Open Session Settings from Session Home. The tempo label shows which note unit the BPM describes. Use the displayed controls to change tempo or time signature. A bar contains the number and kind of beats shown by the meter: 4/4 has four quarter-note beats, while 6/8 has six eighth-note beats. Changing these settings changes the musical timing of the session.
Loop length
Change each instrument's Bars setting on Session Home. The session's length follows the longest instrument. Tab does not have a separate part-length button: it follows the selected instrument. Extending a note is a different action from extending the instrument's loop.
Session key and scale
The key guides chord suggestions for guitar and bass. The scale switch shows or hides fretboard scale highlights; it does not restrict what you may play or rewrite recorded notes. Root and scale type can be chosen independently. The bass badge shows sounding and upcoming bass notes; tapping it toggles bass-note highlighting on the guitar.
Metronome
Use the metronome control in the instrument toolbar or its overflow menu. It can guide practice and count-in. The count-in precedes a recording; wait for it before playing the take.
