Tab selections, techniques, and timing
Selections and clipboard
Select bars groups material over a bar range. Note tools operates on the selected notes; check the selection before deleting or transforming. Copy retains note offsets relative to the selection. Paste waits for a destination slot, then selects the pasted notes. A single pasted note can immediately have its length adjusted.
Note tools reference
Stack notes toggles adding notes at a shared time. Chord opens chord insertion. Previous/Next cursor arrows move the entry point. Apply length changes a multi-note selection to the chosen rhythm. Drag position moves notes; Drag length resizes them after a long press. Transpose offers semitone or octave changes, either keeping strings or reassigning them. Move string shifts selected notes to a higher/lower string. Tie joins compatible selected notes. Snap starts quantizes their starts; Hear auditions them. Done clears the selection. Select bars uses From and To, followed by Select. Advanced offers Wrapped/Horizontal layout and Follow.
Techniques and expression
Technique choices include Bend, Slide, Hammer-on, Pull-off, Vibrato, Palm mute, and Harmonic. Select notes first, then choose the technique and its available settings. Clear expression removes the selected notes’ expression. These controls change musical data as well as notation. Hear auditions the selection; use playback to check the result in context.
Timing
Recording timing distinguishes Preserve timing from snapping note starts to a grid. Note lengths remain unchanged when starts are snapped. Quantize selected material deliberately: an intentionally late note or a fast ornament may lose its feel. Undo restores the previous edit.
Boundaries
A note must fit the selected part and the available time on its string. Existing recordings may contain overlaps; resolving an edit is different from erasing those recordings. There is no separate multi-voice switch or tab-export workflow.
