Compressor · individual module
Sound and starting point
An expanded compressor with timing and knee controls. Set threshold/ratio first, then attack/release, and match volume with Gain.
Compressor · Attack
Sets how quickly compression engages. A slower attack lets more of the initial pick transient through; a faster attack controls it sooner.
Compressor · Knee
Softens the transition into compression around the threshold. A softer knee makes compression start more gradually.
Compressor · Gain
Adds output gain after compression. Match bypassed volume so the compression change is easy to judge.
Compressor · Ratio
Sets how strongly levels above the threshold are compressed. Higher ratios flatten dynamics more strongly.
Compressor · Release
Sets how quickly dynamics processing relaxes. Short settings recover quickly; longer settings make the change more gradual.
Compressor · Threshold
Sets the level at which dynamics processing reacts. Check the module’s purpose below: a gate suppresses low-level sound, while a compressor reduces peaks above its threshold.
Use in the rig
Add this module from the effect catalogue and select its position before amp, after amp, or after cabinet. Use the module enable switch to compare bypassed sound. Hold and drag its chain card to reorder; Duplicate makes another instance and Remove deletes it. In a session, automation can change its controls over the loop. Save sound preset stores the rig for reuse.
