Edit drum hits in the sequencer
Add and select
Open Drums and choose Sequencer. Choose a bar, then tap a grid cell to add a hit or select existing hits. Tap a lane name to select and audition its articulation. Tap a beat number to zoom into that beat; choose a subdivision for fast notes or triplets. Return to the wider view to navigate the bar.
Selected hit controls
Tap a populated cell to cycle through its hits. The articulation menu changes the kit piece; Strength changes velocity. EARLIER and LATER move the selected hit by the chosen grid step. SNAP places it on that grid. HIT/CHOKE switches a cymbal event between a strike and a choke. DELETE removes the selected hit. Grid choices in beat zoom are 1/16, 1/32, 1/8T, and 1/16T; T means triplet.
Correction
OFF preserves timing, GENTLE moves halfway toward the correction grid, and TIGHT snaps fully. Correction changes playback timing and is distinct from the editing grid used to place hits. Listen after changing it, especially on intentionally loose or fast patterns.
Bars, lanes, and patterns
BAR buttons choose the displayed bar; BACK TO BAR leaves beat zoom. COPY BAR copies its hits. PASTE replaces the destination bar with the copied hits. CLEAR BAR removes that bar’s hits. CLEAR followed by a piece name removes that piece throughout the drum part. HALF-TIME, STONER, and TOMS replace the part with a built-in pattern and are available in 4/4.
